Five Steps to Prevent Bad Breath
Mouth odor (halitosis) often makes us uncomfortable because it can reduce self-confidence. Though these mouth odor problems we often face today when we do not drink.
Here are some steps that can be done to prevent bad breath odor:
1. Be diligent in maintaining oral hygiene by brushing teeth, gums, and tongue every morning and evening, including any finished meal and fasting. If you fail to maintain oral hygiene, then the leftovers will be fishing for the perishing of bacteria that can cause bad breath and tooth decay.
Also, do not forget to clean the back of the tongue by using a toothbrush made from a soft nylon, because the area is a gathering place for the bacteria. Avoid toothpastes containing sodium lauryl sulfate, because these compounds can cause some health problems such as irritation.
2. Use dental floss (dental floss) to clean up leftover food from between your teeth perfectly. Therefore, regular toothbrush can not reach the narrow gap between the teeth. If necessary, rinse with a mouth freshener solution (mouthwash) to prevent bad breath. However, avoid mouth freshener solution containing alcohol.
3. Avoid food that have a distinctive smell like garlic, red onion or dorian. Type of food still leaves the smell on the breath and belch even until 72 hours after consumption. Once ingested, the protein content in food will be distributed through the bloodstream, and taken to the lungs and out with the breath to come out of the body systems.
4. Expand the consumption of water to make the mouth keep moisture levels. Therefore, dry mouth can cause bad breath odor. Saliva plays a role to prevent the growth of bacteria that contributes to bad breath, a way to clean your mouth and remove food debris that cause bad breath.
5. Frequently the air blowing out of the nose – especially when suffering from colds or allergies – to prevent bad breath odor.
